Routes and maps
That means better signing of routes, improving crossings over busy roads, rivers and railways for example, and providing better cycle parking.
As part of this work there will be improvements to a number of routes with the aim creating better access to Colchester’s three stations and the town centre.
Maps for a variety of routes to key locations, and an overall view of the town centre, will be produced as part of the project and will be available to download on this website.

The Cycle Colchester project will look at what can be done to make it easier to cycle to other key destinations such as the University of Essex, Further Education colleges, and Colchester General Hospital.
Some of these routes already exist in part, but improvements will be made to them and any gaps will be completed.
